If you put Quality in you'll get Quantity out

Blend vs Compounds

CF Fertilisers are proud to make the highest quality of Nitrogen and compound fertilisers in Britain.

We believe that providing quality products means making fertilisers that have a comprehensive range of analyses that cover the needs of arable and livestock farmers, and making fertilisers that are consistent in nutrient content and granule size range.

We strive to perfect our processes so that we achieve the highest quality in all products, year after year, so that when you purchase a CF True Granular Compound fertiliser, you know that you’ll get the best, year in, year out.

How does a True Granular Compound differ from a blended fertiliser?

Blended fertilisers are a mixture of the constituent parts:

  • Nitrogen – could be prilled or granular

  • Potash – usually granular muriate of potash

  • Phosphates – could be Mono-Ammonium Phosphate, Di-Ammonium Phosphate, Triple super phosphate

  • Sulphur – usually granular Ammonium Sulphate

It is highly unlikely that all these components are similar in size or density to allow an even distribution and will result in different rates of N,P,K and S being spread in different areas of the field. With a True Granular Compound (TGC), the constituent nutrients are granulated into each fertiliser particle, so that every granule contains the desired analysis of nutrients. The granules are also of a consistent size range so that they spread evenly across the bout width.

Granule Compound

To ensure an even spread of all the essential nutrients for your crop, CF Fertilisers place each nutrient together in a single granule and make the granules vari-sized for optimum spread.

This provides the correct aerodynamics for accurate spreading which can only be provided by quality fertiliser. This means better growth, higher quality and improved margins.

Accuracy and Optimum rates

Fertilisers must be used accurately and at optimum rates. Over application means farmers waste money and can have a negative environmental impact.

Use our product selector to find out more about the correct rates and timings for your application.

When fertilisers are used efficiently the benefits are immense:

  • Crop and grass yields can be increased
  • Phosphate (P) and Potash (K) indices are maintained at levels which support healthy growth
  • Reduced Nitrogen (N) or Sulphur (S) is at risk of leaching into the environment.

CF Fertilisers is the UK's only manufacturer of straight Nitrogen, Nitrogen/Sulphur and quality True Granular Compounds. Through regular product testing we develop our products to ensure we lead the field in nutrient management in terms of both product development and fertiliser Advice and Services.

2015 research reinforces the message that Compound Fertiliser offer a consistently superior offering to blends.
